EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

After 10 wonderful years of leading the Yallourn Madrigal Singers, our Co-Directors of Music, Bronwyn and Sophy, are stepping down from their role.

Our choir has a proud tradition of musical excellence and is currently celebrating its 70th anniversary as the longest running choir in Gippsland and one of the oldest community choirs in Victoria. We have a friendly and committed group of singers, of varying abilities, ages and experience, who love music,  enjoy singing and performing for the community in various places and settings. We are an SATB choir and have a diverse repertoire across a range of musical genres including madrigals, renaissance and  sacred music, classical choral pieces, music from the stage and contemporary choral songs. We sing both a cappella and accompanied music.

The choir performs two ticketed concerts each semester and also performs community concerts at local aged care residences. We have sung at Latrobe City community events, the Volunteer Expo, memorial services, Community Christmas Carols, Carol Services at churches and at various other events.

We rehearse on Thursday evenings at St James’ Anglican Church, 100 Grey St, Traralgon from 7.30 – 9.30 pm.
