The Yallourn Madrigal Singers is a mixed voice (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) community choir, based in the Latrobe Valley.

The repertoire still includes madrigals and folk songs, but has expanded to include a broad range, from medieval troubadour songs,19th and 20th century classical pieces, nostalgic jazz standards and contemporary popular songs and show tunes.

Performances include:

  • Mid-year concert

  • Public events performances, including music festivals, eisteddfod

  • Christmas concerts

Rehearsals are every Thursday evening from 7:30 – 9.30 p.m. at St. James Church, Grey Street, Traralgon

The choir is not auditioned, although a voice assessment is made by the Music Director to determine voice range, with a six-week probation period. Sight reading is a definite advantage, but not compulsory.
